Announcements

  • Applications for Summer 2022 Employment with the Braintree Recreation Department are now available and will be accepted through Friday, April 8th.  

             Applicants for camp counselor and playground positions should be at least 18 years old and have graduated high school.  First preference will be given to returning applicants.

             Applicants for lifeguards (must have certification) and gate attendants at Sunset Lake and the Petersen Splash pad must be at least 16 years old and have completed their sophomore year of high school.

            Applications are available from the Recreation office at 74 Pond Street or at online at https://www.braintreerec.com/info/dept/default.aspx.

Department Description

Provision of recreational programs for all ages including, but not limited to: Summer organized play, summer waterfronts, summer special needs day activities, Sunset Concert Series, Parties In the Park, Independence Day Celebration coordination, Independence Day Celebration Parade coordination, group trips to sporting and cultural events for Braintree families, Learn to Skate Program, Ski/Snowboard Big Blue Program, Slimnastics Program, Judo/JuJitsu Classes, community recreational facility master scheduling, rental and scheduling of Alice Daughraty Gymnasium, youth sports program facilitation.
